In October Dynamic Solutions Group, Inc. collected toys for a local program called “Cheerful Givers“– this program encourages individuals and businesses to donate gifts bags to the local food shelf for families to pick up when a birthday gift is needed. Our employees at DSGI were able to fill 66 bags!
According to their website, one in every six kids in the United States lives in poverty. This program clearly does not end poverty, but it is one way to bring a smile to a child’s face who might not otherwise receive a gift on their birthday. Cheerful Givers has a goal of filling 50,000 gift bags in 2010. They are well on their way with roughly 40,000 as of today. If you would like to donate to this organization to help them meet their goal, you can do so at www.cheerfulgivers.org The website also provides guideline and tips for organizing your own gift collection activity.
It was a great event that really was enjoyed by all who participated. Dropping the gift bags off at the food shelf was “an eye opening experience”, said DSGI Software Engineer Tom Champ.
Below are some photos from the day we wrapped the gifts and delivered them to “360 Communities” — our local food shelf.
