Security and compliance with federal and state regulations remains a top concern for businesses and organizations who fax. Whether we are working with healthcare organizations of Fortune 500s, each client wants to know that the faxes they send and receive can be transmitted securely and encrypted so that only verified recipients can open and access them.
Thankfully, RightFax has a secure add-on module that can help businesses maintain the highest level of security when faxing: The RightFax Encryption Module.
About The RightFax Encryption Module
The RightFax Encryption Module encrypts all fax images stored in the RightFax Image Directory. It prevents any person not explicitly authorized to access fax images. Only authorized viewers may view encrypted images, and any unauthorized access is tracked and recorded for auditing purposes.
How it Works
When RightFax creates an image file for a fax, it is encrypted and placed inside of the Image Directory Structure. The RightFax Encryption Module encrypts what is entered into the directory with TripleDES 192-bit security, which is an encryption key based upon server guides that ensures protection. This encryption is applied to both inbound and outbound fax images and even protects against internal data breaches.
When users want to access these images, they must go through the RightFax API. If fax images are delivered to external systems (such as email), they are decrypted before delivery. However, the original fax images is maintained and still encrypted within the RightFax Image Directory Structure.
The Benefits of The RightFax Encryption Module
This RightFax add-on module is ideal for any business or organization that must maintain compliance with regulations like HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI-DSS or any other federal or state regulations. It can also be used by entities who simply wish to have an extra layer of protection on their fax images , documents and other content.
