Next stop: Afghanistan

March 27, 2013 By Fax Girl Leave a Comment

On Tuesday we finished up our latest civic campaign. Each quarter we spend our time and resources on a cause in our community that we feel strongly about. It is actually one of our Fax Guy core values to be active in our greater community (Check out some of the other initiatives we have supported here, here & here.). This quarter we collected items to send to deployed military personnel who are serving on foreign soil. The specific unit we “adopted” is a Army National Guard Unit from Minnesota serving in Afghanistan. It was a lot of fun shopping and collecting items for these troops. We were especially fortunate to have our own former Air Force soldier and Fax Guy, Shawn Goodman (Thanks Shawn!) available to share his ideas on what we should send. He had great ideas! Some might surprise you: duct tape, Sharpies, socks, Starbucks VIA single serve coffee packets, candy and mouthwash among other items are on their way overseas as we speak.

If you haven’t ever supported a military group before, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. I think we can all say that the feeling in our office yesterday was that of a heightened patriotism. Check out some of the photos we captured as we filled 10 large flat-rate US postal service boxes.
