Quick Tips: Adding and Automating Printers with RightFax

December 28, 2018 By Fax Girl Leave a Comment

For organizations that send faxes frequently, fax automation is one of the key drivers of efficiency, so why shouldn’t they automate the printing of faxes as well? RightFax has this capability, and it’s not very difficult to add network printers or set up the automated printing of sent or received faxes.

Follow these easy steps to connect your printers with RightFax and automate the printing process.

How to Add Network Printers to RightFax

Users can import and define an unlimited number of network printers in RightFax. They can be imported individually or in groups. To import printers, open Enterprise Fax Manager (EFM) and navigate to the “Utility” menu. From there, follow these steps:

  1. Select “Import Printers from Network.”
  2. The “Import Network Printers” box will appear. Use the tab-down tree to select the printer/s you wish to add.
  3. Optional: you can also use the “Find Printers in Selected Context” button to scan your entire network for printers and set defaults with “Set Default Printer Information”.
  4. The printers you select to add will appear in queue in the “Current Printer List” box below. Highlight these printers and click the “Import Selected Printers” button to import them.

When you are finished, you can navigate to “Printers” in EFM and see the printers you have successfully imported. For more help, see our step-by-step video here:

Configuring Automated Printing of Faxes

You can configure the automatic printing of sent and received faxes at the user level, allowing you to choose which user or users’ faxes are automatically printed. To configure a user account to automatically print faxes, navigate to “Users” in EFM and select the user you wish to configure.

To configure automatic printing of sent faxes, follow these steps.

  1. In the “User Edit” box, navigate to the “Outbound Auto-Printing” tab.
  2. Select the box labeled “Enable automatic printing of sent faxes?”
  3. Under the checkbox, there is a dropdown menu labeled “Printer.” Select the printer you wish to use to automatically print faxes.
  4. Hit the “OK” button to accept the changes.

To configure automatic printing of received faxes, follow these steps:

  1. In the “User Edit” box, navigate to the “Default Receive Settings” tab.
  2. Under “Automatic Printing Options,” check the box labeled “Enabled?”
  3. Under the checkbox, there is a dropdown menu labeled “Printer.” Select the printer you wish to use to automatically print faxes.
  4. Hit the “OK” button to accept the changes.
