The RightFax 16.2 feature pack is set to release in April of 2017. This update comes less than a year later from the 10.6 edition that was released this past June. The updates will bring greater control and efficiency of analytics, business processes, compliance, customer experience and reach.
Why RightFax 16.2? OpenText has an entire suite of products ranging from document management to analytics to electronic data interchange (ED). Their current release of their product line is Release 16. With the next version of RightFax, OpenText is integrating RightFax into their product suite number scheme. The .2 is the 2nd release of Release 16. You can think of what RightFax 11 would have been.
We anticipate the next release will be available in April 2017.
What can you expect in the RightFax 16.2 upgrade? Here are some of the more notable features that are anticipated. Keep in mind that features could be added or delayed since they are working on these new features daily. We can say that The Fax Guys are proud to be on the RightFax 16.2 Beta Team and we are seeing their weekly builds.
Administrative File Management
Acts as a file janitorial service. You can ensure that your server is clean and tidy by setting a threshold for how long (no more than 30 days) you want to keep files around.
Administrative Delegate Controls
Allows you to better manage users and provide security for customers. You will be able to delegate access to faxes and other information to one or many users. You will also be able to allow administrators to choose when to set up delegate access.
Image High Availability
Will give you access to an image directory and provide other solutions for RightFax images.
Disabled User Accounts
Better manage your RightFax server and address compliance concerns by disabling accounts at will. A solution for contract/temp employees or those who go out on leave.
Shared Services Licensing Updates
Instead of all fax servers being activated separately, you will be able to license one server and then entitle other servers as you add them.
Administrative Roles
The following administrative roles will be added:
- Read-Only Administrator (Help Desk Role): can grant access to view enterprise fax manager.
- Service-Only Administrator: service role that is allowed to stop or start a service or configure the server.
- User-Only Administrator: can go into enterprise and change a user account. Cannot start or stop services or change forms or anything that would affect production.
RightFax Connect Portal Update
Gives full reporting and increased access to faxes and fax history, passwords and other updates.
Fax File Version Control
Allows users to view all versions of a fax all the back to the original. You can see how the fax changed and edited over time, including changes to signature, numbers, etc.
DocTransport Appliance
Piece of hardware that enable remote offices to communicate in main RightFax server. Great for people who work remotely or are travelling.
Some of the other features that could be in the RightFax 16.2 include:
- Actuate iHub integration to provide fax dashboards
